Ear Acupuncture

Ear acupuncture therapy states that the outer ear represents all parts of the body because the ear is a microsystem of the body (a map of the entire body). It consists of targeting a specific point on the ear in order to treat a specific organ and heal it. Small seed or magnets are often placed in the ear point for a lasting stimulation, enhance the Qi flow, and break static (Last 2003).

Below is a chart of the ear point and their relationship with a specific organ:

Children are not usually treated with needles, instead, they are treated with laser or simple with acupressure (Schiffke 2015).

The acupuncture points found on the ear help regulate the body's internal organs, structures, and functions.

Ear acupuncture is used to treat addiction, mood disorders, pain, obesity, genealogical problems, concentration problems etc (Shuswap Acupuncture Clinic).

Interesting fact:

It is not necessary to treat both ears, with only treating one ear is enough. However certain conditions that involve the liver and gallbladder are required to treat only in the right ear (Schiffke 2015).
