ABOUT ME

Hi, everyone! I am Karen Morales, I am from Ecuador, I am 16 years old, and I am doing my MYP personal project about traditional Chinese medicine.

The MYP personal project is a very important piece of work that MYP year 5 students have to do over an extended period of time. A good accomplishment in MYP personal project will allow students to be into the IB Diploma the following year. Students would have the opportunity to create a project about the topic they desire and which they are enthusiastic about. This is the time where students show their commitment, organization, creativity, and where students demonstrate all their skills and knowledge they have developed in the MYP program. Students will also have to apply all their learning they have acquired in school into their personal experience. For the MYP project, students must have process journals, criterion A (investigation), Criterion B (Planning), Criterion C (the product), and the criterion D (report) (Cooper 2015).

This website is the product of my personal project, and I hope that through this website, I could achieve my personal project objective which is to learn more about the theory of traditional Chinese medicine through research and experience it in order to create a website which will have information about Chinese medicine and a blog where I will write my experience with Chinese medicine. This will promote Chinese medicine through everything I have learned, experienced, and by stating the advantages of it. Therefore, my project will motivate people to treat themselves with Chinese medicine and think about other alternatives to improve their health both physically and mentally, in a non-invasive way.

I am currently experiencing irregular periods and stress. Therefore, I decided that I will make myself treat with traditional Chinese medicine my stress and most importantly, my hormonal imbalances that make me have irregular periods. I will write down my experience with traditional Chinese medicine, hoping to motivate other people to treat themselves with traditional Chinese medicine.
